The bi-injection technology is direct inspired by the bi-injection molding process.
It combines 2 different materials, the first one is a standard material whereas the second one can be chemically plated.
The process is quite quick (Injection molding and plating) but there are 2 main drawbacks with this technology:
- High cost of the injection mold
- Low flexibility ( every design change requires a costly tool modification)
